‘INNOTHON’ is envisioned to create an opportunity for a tripartite collaboration of the young brains and professors of top notch management institutes of Mumbai with the managers & leaders from the industry; designed and empowered by BMA to innovate and provide sustainable solutions for business problems in a cost effective manner with an ease of implementation.
The winner of INNOTHON takes home the prestigious revolving ‘Dandekar Memorial Trophy’ and a cash prize of Rs. 25,000/. The second and third runner up teams also takes home a cash prize of Rs.15,000/ and Rs. 10,000/ respectively.

RULES FOR INNOTHON 2018-19
How it works?
‘INNOTHON’ presents management students with a real business challenge for which they have to propose a solution. The business problems will be presented by the participating organisations.
What will the problem statement look like?
The participating organisation will share the following details in the problem statement:
INNOTHON Team Creation
Each team will comprise of 4 students (volunteers from same Institute),1-2 corporate members from participating organisation and one Academician (from the same institutes as the students) as mentor.
In a time-boxed scenario, teams are expected to work collaboratively to come up with novel solutions: they must brainstorm, prioritize, and make feasible prototypes and pitch their solution.
BMA will facilitate to connect the student team and faculty with the organizational team so that they can work together during the preparation period.
Each organisation’s problem statement can have multiple teams working on it for creative competitiveness.

Approach Note
The teams start working on the organisation’s problem statement. They would ideate, develop and submit an approach note.
Deadline for submission: 21st February 2019
Progress Report
Each team submits a progress report on the solution being developed.
Deadline for submission: 5th March 2019.
Presentations and Grand Finale
All teams showcase & present their innovative solution to a panel of jury. The Jury will comprise of two members from participating organization, one independent corporate member, one member from consulting company and one academician.

Evaluation
The competition follows one formal presentation round process. The presentation time per team is up to 20 minutes followed by Q&A by the judges.

Note: Necessary audiovisual facilities will be provided for this purpose. Participants may bring presentations in pen drives or CDs and the same should be duly scanned and loaded in the system before 9 am. Hard copy of presentation may be submitted prior to the competition
Prizes
The winner takes home the coveted Dandekar Trophy and cash prize of Rs. 25,000/.The two runner ups will get a cash prize of Rs. 15,000/ and Rs. 10,000 respectively.
Eligibility and other Participation details
The Institutes offering two-year full time MMS programme of the University of Mumbai/ SNDT University, Deemed Universities and / or PGDBM programme approved by AICTE are eligible to participate in this Competition.
Considering the practical nature of problem solving approach it is advisable that the participating institutes form the teams of their well performing students with work experience for competitive edge. If the solution finds favor with the corporate it may result into a valuable placement opportunity for the students and corporate partnership for the academic institute.
Each participating team (Mentor and the students will be from the same Institute) will be required to pay participation fees as mentioned below:
Participation Fees to be sent along with the Registration form in section#5 to the BMA Office. Cheque to be drawn in favor of “Bombay Management Association”.
Each Management Institute can register any number of Teams and a single team may undertake more than one problem statement @ Rs 5000 per statement.
Institutes planning to participate in the competition are requested to fill up the ‘Registration Form’ along with fees and send the same latest by 10th February 2019; 5 P.M. Kindly note the objective of a strict deadline is to ensure that there is no last minute preparation on a subject that requires in depth primary research and a practical approach for the problem solving.
The decision of the judges will be considered final and binding on all the participants.
Non-compliance of the rules and procedures may lead to disqualification of the team.
