“India a Ten Trillion Dollar Economy by 2030: Role of Banks”
The Indian banking sector is under stress which is hurting asset creation in the economy. High NPAs and crisis in non-banking financial sector has stalled flow of credit. The new government at the Centre led by Prime Minister Modi would inevitably have addressing crisis of the banking system as one of the top priority to propel economic growth.
In this backdrop, IMC Chamber of Commerce and Industry, in association with the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI) is organizing its 10th Banking & Finance Conference -“India a Ten Trillion Dollar Economy by 2030: Role of Banks” on Friday, June 14, 2019 from 09.30 a.m. to 5.30 p.m. at Ball Room, ITC Grand Central, Parel, Mumbai.
Mr. B P. Kanungo, Deputy Governor, Reserve Bank of India is expected to inaugurate the Conference as the Chief Guest
Mr. M. Damodaran, Former Chairman, SEBI, has agreed to deliver the Key Note Address on “Corporate Governance in Banks”.
Some other panellists who have been invited to share their insights at the Conference include CMDs/MDs and CEOs of PSUs, foreign banks and private sector banks as well as expert from banking and finance sectors.
This day-long Conference will deliberate short and long-term reforms and regulatory measures that are required to put stressed banking system back on track with enough resilience and liquidity. The discussions at the Conference would extensively revolve around the role of banking and financial institutions in helping create a robust economy and achieve ten trillion dollar economy going forward – the growth that is both inclusive and sustainable.
