Migrant Labour by Vivek Patwardhan

July 15, 2020 @ 5:00 PM - 6:00 PM UTC+5.5

About the Webinar: Migrant Labour

As we open a packet of biscuit or even light scented agarbatti in our pujas, have we ever wondered whose hands have come together to bring us these daily essentials? Who are these people and in this pandemic what has happened to them?  Covid 19 pandemic has made us ponder over many such questions and thoughts. This Wednesday our faculty, Mr Patwardhan is going to put light on this very sensitive yet very important topic of “migrant Labour.” He will make us aware of who are migrant labour and why they seem to enter ‘precariat’ or why they get precarious jobs. Is there anything that can be done about it, if yes, then what. How can we impact in their lives, how some immediate steps and some long term systemic change will help these “migrants” to live a stable and sustainable life.

Faculty Introduction: Mr Vivek Patwardhan
