BMA Wellness Conclave

February 5, 2021 @ 4:00 PM - 6:00 PM UTC+5.5

About the program:

Wellness is a holistic concept that needs to be addressed from the inside out by managing all the factors that contribute to it. The conclave will cover all aspects of life, emphasizing the day to day lifestyle and needs of wellbeing. . India’s wellness approach has evolved over the years from being focused on preventive practices such as Yoga, Naturopathy and Siddha to a more multi-dimensional concept of physical, mental and emotional well-being. The Wellness Conclave will be addressing various approaches to solving lifestyle problems in the current context.

Group Well Being: Towards greater synergies

Much of the research and practices on mental health have focused on mental health problems and the prevention of mental health disorders. However, much ignored are the vast majority of people who are functioning, but their psychological and emotional wellbeing has gone down dramatically due to fear and uncertainty, isolation factors, 24/7 always-on culture, and more. There is enough evidence to show that the next pandemic may very well be a mental health pandemic.

About the Speaker:

Join us for this highly personalized with Radhika Vachani, the Positive Wellbeing Expert, Author “Just Breathe,” and Founder, The Institute of Inner Wellbeing & Excellence (www.instituteiwe.org). Radhika will address the dire need for companies to develop a comprehensive wellbeing program that focuses on the whole person, leading to sustainable and long-term group and organization wellbeing.

Transcending Loneliness

Today loneliness is spoken of as an epidemic.  The most strikingly affected are the elderly but the young are not spared either. External situations exacerbate feelings of loneliness. Loneliness, however, is something intrinsic, common to all humans regardless of age, gender, income, position, and situation in life. Most of our activities in life are escapes from loneliness which are futile.  Loneliness invariably lurks beneath all our occupations and pre-occupations, surfacing when we least expect it. Approaches that deal with loneliness focus on assuaging its inexhaustible ache. Is there a different approach to loneliness that does not merely try to ease its pain but radically dissolves it? Such an approach, with much significance for our times, indeed, all times, has been articulated by J. Krishnamurti.

A Life without Medicines

Do you want to take charge of your health in 2021? Meet Dr Nandita Shah, the founder of SHARAN, who is a doctor that helps her patients prevent and reverse lifestyle diseases such as diabetes, hypertension, coronary artery (heart) disease, PCOD, hypothyroid, infertility, asthma, auto-immune diseases and even some cases of chronic kidney disease and cancer just with simple dietary and lifestyle changes. Does that sound too good to be true? The logic is simple and doable, more so now than ever before since many of us are working from home. And this may be more important than ever before because of Covid-19.

About the Speaker:

Dr. Nandita Shah believes that we can be our own best doctors most of the time. She is the founder of SHARAN, www.sharan-india.org, an organization devoted to building a culture of health and disease reversal through food. She received the Nari Shakti Award 2016 in recognition of her work in the field of health and nutrition and is the author of Reversing Diabetes in 21-Days, an Amazon India bestseller in endocrinology.
