‘Rome wasn’t built in a day’
It always takes time for creating something monumental. One needs to be committed to the cause and be patient to accomplish such big tasks. Great Institutions are not built overnight; rather it is a tireless journey, evolved over time and takes ages of hard work, patience and perseverance to succeed.
In today’s world, building an institution with sustained business growth for long periods is extremely difficult with rising levels of competition and ever-evolving economic dynamics unless business leaders demonstrate exemplary skills to achieve it. It is therefore a test of nerves for them to build their institutions to a global scale. In accomplishing this task how should they look at the importance of values, ethics and sustainable and inclusive growth for all?

About the Speaker:
Mr. R. Gopalakrishnan
Professional: He has been a professional manager from 1967. He has served as Chairman of Unilever Arabia, as MD of Brooke Bond Lipton and Vice Chairman of Hindustan Lever, as Director of Tata Sons and several Tata companies. He also serves as an independent director and non –executive Chairman of Castrol India. He is an independent director of Hemas Holding PLC, Sri Lanka. He also mentors a few start-ups.
Speaking: He is an international speaker and is actively engaged in both instructional and inspirational speaking. He has to his credit over 100 keynote addresses having spoken at national & International conferences.
Writing: He is a regular columnist for several financial newspapers and has authored nine books on management since 2007.
Teaching: He serves as Executive in Residence at the SP Jain Institute of Management & Research, Mumbai and is a Distinguished Professor of IIT Kharagpur.
