Leadership in Social Responsibility Summit

Strategies, Successful Models, Innovations and Key enablers

Leadership for Social Responsibility Summit will provide a rich learning experience of participating in insightful sessions by a galaxy of legendary speakers from leading organizations and would arrange an open house debate to lead a collaborative approach to develop a Shared Value Proposition for the Corporates, NGOs, and B – Schools, Philanthropists and Social Entrepreneurs with Government being a Driving Force for Impact creation and its measurement and reporting.

20th century top management guru Dr. C. K. Prahalad pioneered the concept of “Wealth at the Bottom of Pyramid”, he famously stated “The future lies with those companies who see the poor as their customers”.

Corporates are always in search of smart and beneficial investment strategies toward meeting their business and social commitments and on the other hand beneficiaries and intermediaries, have been struggling in search of right opportunities to garner the attention of investors and resources. CSR today is the biggest opportunity for all; albeit packaged with a challenge. While CSR in the corporate world is looked at as an Impact Investment for building goodwill and brand identity and not merely as a donation; Social Welfare Organizations and NGOs face limitations in implementation capabilities and making assessment of impacts and scale the operations.

A few preferred areas of investment for the Corporates where impact is easily visible and measurable in CSR are education (in a variety of dimensions viz. primary, vocational, adult), livelihood (to the persons with disabilities and special needs is the most critical one), health, hygiene and medical, digital, women empowerment to quote a few. Historically the philanthropic rich of the world have also been supporting the social cause of alleviating poverty by contributing towards better health, shelter, education, sanitation and environment.

There are many facets and dimensions of social responsibility ecosystem. Various government policies and plans are key contributors for enabling this ecosystem of social transformation. Prestigious global forums like World Economic Forum at Devos are also working towards trying to unite the world for meaningful deliberation for evolving a policy framework and mutual commitment & sacrifices.

There is a good scope of application of rightful strategy, methodology, models and tools for finding solutions for social problems in emerging industry environment and creating an opportunity for Social Entrepreneurs, Incubators, Researchers and Analysts. Global best brains like Bill gates, Mark Zuckerberg are socially committed to find innovative solutions for social problems. Many business groups like Tatas are also investing heavily for same cause.
